  1. Al List says:

I am thankful that the LCMS continues to take a stand for our constitutional rights in religious liberty and supports these defendants who risk whatever wealth they might have for their Christian faith.

    1. Tina says:

I agree wholeheartedly. Christian citizenship in this country is a marvelous gift from God Almighty. Informing ourselves about candidates and voting is the beginning of our responsibility. Informing ourselves in an ongoing way and participating in conversations regarding the topics of our day is how I see “living out our faith”.

  2. John J. Flanagan says:

I am skeptical of the Supreme Court. I do not believe they will rule in favor of Mr Phillips, nor will they uphold his religious freedom. I hope I am wrong, but given the direction of the country and the judgments of the courts in favoring gay rights over the rights of others, it is apparent to this writer that we may lose this one also.
We live in a post Christian Era in our nation’s history, and the spiritual and moral decline has infected every segment of American society, including the enactment of laws and judicial decisions. Many churches have also been transformed into progressive islands of social change.
I believe we must prepare for more hostility towards Christians, not less, more infringement on religious freedom and speech, not less, and prepare ourselves in advance to fight the good fight of faith in the years to come.
