The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Minnesota North District re-elected the Rev. Brady L. Finnern on the first ballot to his second term as district president.
Elected as vice-presidents were:
- Rev. Dr. Karl Weber, pastor of St. Paul’s, Richville, Minn., and St. John’s, Ottertail, Minn., who was re-elected as first vice-president;
- Rev. Bruce Timm, pastor of Redeemer, St. Cloud, Minn., who was re-elected as second vice-president; and
- Rev. Jeff Ross, pastor of St. John’s, Garfield, Minn., who was elected as third vice-president (first term).
All elected officials were installed during the convention.
The delegates also passed resolutions to:
- Reaffirm and encourage the teachings and practices of closed Communion; and
- Affirm the right to gather in worship in all times and situations while pleading to God for wisdom in difficult situations and forgiveness where there has been error.
The theme of the convention, held Feb. 23–25 in Grand Rapids, Minn., was “A Living Hope in Christ,” drawn from 1 Peter 1:3–5.
