The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Montana District met June 9–12 in Billings, Mont., for its 36th regular convention under the theme “I Am Not Ashamed.” Delegates elected the Rev. Ryan Wendt, Billings, on the first ballot to his first term as district president.
Wendt has served as senior pastor at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Billings since 2006 and as district second vice-president since 2018. The Rev. Terry Forke, outgoing district president, announced prior to the convention that he was retiring from the position after serving for 19 years.
Delegates also elected:
- Rev. Arlo Pullman, Laurel, Mont., to first vice-president (he previously served in the position 2006–2009); and
- Rev. Samuel Grayl, Bozeman, Mont., to a first term as second vice-president.
Elected officers were installed during the convention.
