- Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, last month mailed a packet of materials to all LCMS congregations to promote “Concordia Seminary Sunday” on July 9 or an alternate date. The materials, which are not dated and can be used at any time during the year, include special bulletin inserts, Bible studies, sermon notes, and other worship resources.
The free materials are produced each year to provide an opportunity for congregations to “emphasize the importance of forming men for service in the pastoral ministry and to assist in the crucial process of identifying, informing, and encouraging future pastors,” according to a seminary news release.
To order the materials, or for more information, contact the seminary’s communications department at (314) 505-7374 or email@example.com.
- Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, last month mailed postcards to every LCMS congregation offering them the opportunity to request materials to promote seminary education. Available are free bulletin inserts, admission packets, retreat information, student “adoption” information, and a seminary video or DVD.
“We don’t suggest a specific day for a ‘seminary Sunday,’ but encourage each congregation to choose a Sunday that fits best with their schedule,” said Jayne Sheafer, the seminary’s public relations officer.
