“Reaching out to Muslims” will be the focus of the Lay Bible Institute sponsored by Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, on Aug. 7.
Leading the daylong workshop will be Dr. John Loum, director of the seminary’s Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology. Loum has worked among Muslims in Europe, Africa, and the United States for more than 20 years.
Participants will be presented with a “unique perspective on one of the fastest growing religions in America,” according to a seminary news release. The workshop will discuss various topics, including “what you need to know about your Muslim neighbors, co-workers, or even the Muslim your child may date in the future.” Members of all denominations are welcome to attend.
Registration is $20, plus $6.50 for an optional lunch ticket in the seminary’s dining hall. Registration deadline is July 25.
