COP addresses convention, call-list ‘best practices’

  1. Rev. Justin D. Kane, Non-Candidate says:

Perhaps call-list best practice could include giving initial consideration to eligible Candidate and Non-Candidate Status Pastors who, in some cases, have hoped, waited, and prayed for years just to be included on a Call list let alone receive another Call. Activating Inactive Status pastors would preclude the need to compile yet another Call list when an Active Status Pastor accepts a Call to a new congregation. In this way the Synod can re-activate these faithful witnesses, show mercy to these pastors and their families, and include them in our Synod’s life together.

  2. “In his report to the COP, President Harrison sounded a sober but determined note…referring to the U.S. Supreme Court case, Obergefell v. Hodges, legalizing same-sex marriage in all states. “We won’t be silent” on this, he said. “People will call us bigots, but we have the view of all history on marriage on our side. …

Isn’t it *more* important that we have God’s Word on our side?

By the way, what is “the view of all history”?
