There was apparently a reply asking about Muslim refugees persecuting or killing Christian refugees with them, but you deleted it. Would you care to explain why we are supporting this?

    1. LCMS Church Information Center says:

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS) is a separately incorporated nonprofit that is not a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of the LCMS. They are a pan-Lutheran organization that works independently of any Lutheran church body yet retains the name “Lutheran” as part of the name of the organization. Please contact LIRS (www.lirs.org) with any questions you may have about how they are handling the immigration process.

    2. Laurel Schilling says:

Timothy, I also do not know why LC-MS is supporting LIRS since it is technically not a Lutheran charity. In fact, it is not a charity at all since it is over 90% funded with tax dollars and really is a government contractor. It is disturbing that LC-MS is indoctrinating young people about the positives of LIRS without also telling them that this is a multi-million dollar resettlement business that imposes huge costs to taxpayers.
