“We preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1 Cor. 1:23–24).
In preparation for the 68th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, set for July 29–Aug. 3 in Milwaukee, a new Bible study explores the convention theme, “We Preach Christ Crucified,” based on 1 Corinthians 1:18–25.
The free, downloadable study is about the importance of keeping the Gospel front and center in all we do as the church. Through the study’s five lessons, participants will come to a deeper understanding of how Scripture defines the Gospel, how the apostles proclaimed it in the Book of Acts and how continuing this proclamation is the church’s ongoing task.
Both participant and leader guides are available. All are welcome to use this study in your congregation, either individually or in groups, as you join other believers in proclaiming Christ crucified to the world.
