Lutherans For Life (LFL) is offering a new Mother’s Day bulletin insert with thoughts on the theme, “The Heart of a Mother” — along with supporting Bible passages and a prayer “for a mother’s heart.”
The front of the Mother’s Day insert depicts a pensive Mary, along with Joseph and the adolescent Jesus, with the words from Luke 2:19: “Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.”
It is available for 7 cents each (item no. 1108B1).
Congregations and others may order copies of a Father’s Day bulletin insert titled “Faithful Fathers” that LFL first made available last year.
Posing the question, “How does a carpenter teach the One who made the trees,” the Father’s Day insert’s front features artwork showing Joseph and a young Jesus engaged in woodworking.
The reverse side “spotlights the life of Joseph, the importance of fathers in family life, and the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father in helping dads in their vocation,” according to LFL’s product description.
The Father’s Day bulletin insert also is 7 cents each (item no. 1107BI).
LFL, the pan-Lutheran pro-life, pro-family ministry based in Nevada, Iowa, also has available several other Mother’s Day and Father’s Day resources.
For Mother’s Day, “Not Alone” is a devotional booklet that congregation members might give to pregnancy centers or to single mothers ($2, item no. 901B). Another brochure titled “Women, Abortion, and the Church: Responsibilities and Rights” notes that some say abortion is the “compassionate solution,” then asks, “Why should we offer a woman an evil of any sort?” (25 cents, item no. 201A).
Two other brochures are available from LFL for Father’s Day — “For Men Only,” which explains current abortion methods and complications and includes a scriptural insert (25 cents, item no. 303T); and “More Power!,” explaining that with God’s power, men can build up relationships with those in their families (25 cents, item no. 606T).
To order any of these Mother’s Day and Father’s Day resources, contact LFL at (888) 364-LIFE (5433) or orders@lutheransforlife.org. Or, visit the LFL Web site at www.lutheransforlife.org. Prices do not include shipping and handling charges.
