Researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that nearly 80 percent of American adults do not get the recommended amount of exercise each week.
During August’s video lecture on “Exercise in the Congregation,” Ronda Anderson, R.N., parish nurse at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Janet Hitzeman, M.S.N., R.N., parish nurse at Faith Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Ind., discuss exercise and offer helpful information on how to start an exercise program in the congregation.
In particular, Anderson and Hitzeman focus on how the gifts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience and forgiveness given to us in Christ in our Baptism enable us to live healthy lives of love and service to our neighbor.
Thanks so much for this lecture! You shared some great ideas and resources and a bunch of encouragement!!!
