In a few short years, Lutheran Federal Credit Union (LutheranFCU) has gone from being a startup to offering a wide range of financial products, services and educational resources. It even serves members in all 50 states.
Now LutheranFCU is looking to honor the Church’s volunteers through the establishment of a new Volunteer Leadership Award “to recognize and thank remarkable volunteer leaders.”
According to LutheranFCU CEO Rev. Ken Krueger:
“The award came about because we are well familiar with how important volunteer leaders are to shaping the vision and fulfilling the mission of ministry organizations. While staff can make an organization good, volunteer leaders often are the difference in making it great. As such, we decided it would be good to create the Volunteer Leadership Award to recognize, honor, encourage and support this form of servant leadership.”
Any volunteer leader who is somehow connected to The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) may be nominated, whether serving an LCMS congregation, school, Recognized Service Organization or other LCMS mission agency, or an LCMS member serving a non-LCMS agency.
To nominate a volunteer in your organization, church or school, complete and submit a nomination form no later than Aug. 31. You also may simply write the information requested by the form in an email and send it to operations@lutheranfcu.org.
The recipient of the Volunteer Leadership Award will be announced this fall at a place and time to be determined.
The mission of LutheranFCU is “to provide greater awareness of individual and organizational financial management from a Christian perspective” by “exemplifying Biblical principles; employing talented, accessible, member-focused staff; and utilizing technology and services that result in a superior customer experience.”
