Worshipers participate in the opening Divine Service at the 69th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Phoenix on July 18. The theme of the 2026–2029 National Offering is “Christ Is Risen Indeed! Tell the Next Generation.” (LCMS/Erik M. Lunsford)
Under the theme “Christ Is Risen! Tell the Next Generation,” the 2026–2029 National Offering will support ongoing domestic work carried out at the local level by LCMS congregations, districts and others, and supported by LCMS Family Ministry, Youth Ministry, Campus Ministry and School Ministry.
LCMS member congregations, districts and Recognized Service Organizations are now invited to apply for a “Tell the Next Generation” matching grant, with a Sept. 15 deadline for the first application window. Approved grants will fund projects that directly impact families, young adults, youth and/or children and that are focused on faith formation, marriage preparation or enrichment, parenting, human sexuality and/or personal discipleship. Projects must be carried out in close proximity to the Word and Sacrament ministry of the congregation.
Gifts to the National Offering began being accepted earlier this year and will continue to be accepted throughout the coming triennium. The National Offering theme is based on Psalm 78:4: “We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might, and the wonders that He has done.”
Awards will be made in December.
