They are among a variety of matters covered at the Nov. 16-19 meeting of the LCMS Council of Presidents, which ended in a joint session with the Synod’s Board of Directors.
Throughout the past year, the six LCMS vice-presidents have assisted Synod President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison in visiting 30 of the 35 LCMS districts.
At the Sept. 9-10 meeting in the St. Louis, the LCMS Board for National Mission continues its policy work, hears from numerous speakers and takes several actions.
The LCMS Council of Presidents September meeting includes nine newly elected district presidents, as the council examines various ongoing efforts across the Synod.
The Rev. Dr. John R. Denninger of Springfield, Va., is elected to his second term as president of the LCMS Southeastern District during the district’s 37th Regular Convention.
“We need to be encouraging in every possible way those men who wish to prepare for the Office of the Ministry,” says LCMS Council of Presidents Placement Committee Chairman Rev. Kurtis D. Schultz.
