ST. LOUIS, April 30, 2014—Many teams and organizations sent to assist with last fall’s Typhoon Haiyan recovery efforts have already left the Philippines, just four months after the disaster.
It may seem like devastating tragedies are never-ending, but there’s a light in the darkness: LCMS Disaster Response is there, “reaching out with caring and compassion in the name of Christ.”
Disaster staff return to the disaster sites to assess ongoing recovery efforts and determine needs in this post-emergency, or intermediate, phase of the relief effort.
