The LCMS Board for International Mission met Sept. 23 and 24 in St. Louis.
The Board for International Mission met May 27–28, and the Board for National Mission met June 10–11.
The LCMS Boards for International Mission and National Mission held their first gatherings of 2021 via all-day virtual meetings on Jan. 28 and Feb. 26, respectively.
At its Sept. 4 meeting, the board also heard about how reductions in budgeted Fiscal Year 2021 expenditures will have a significant impact on LCMS mission and ministry efforts.
The LCMS Boards for International and National Mission held online meetings on May 29 and June 5, respectively.
Among other business, the boards discussed the triennial mission emphasis established at the convention, “Making Disciples for Life.”
Delegates elect members to national mission, international mission and other Synod boards at the 2019 Synod convention in Tampa, Fla.
At its Jan. 31–Feb. 1 meeting in St. Louis, the board appointed seven new missionaries and continued discussions on the status of international schools and cooperative work with partner churches, districts and mission societies.
Meeting in St. Louis, the groups addressed pertinent topics, heard reports and reviewed policies.
The LCMS Board for International Mission met May 30–31, and the LCMS Board for National Mission met June 14–15 in St. Louis.
With the unanimous concurrence of the Board for International Mission, LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison has named the Rev. Daniel F. McMiller as the new executive director of the Office of International Mission.
