TAMPA, Fla. — On July 23, the third full day of business at the 67th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), delegates elected members to a number of Synod boards.
LCMS Board for National Mission
Central Region, Ordained/Commissioned — Martha J. Milas of Champaign, Ill., was elected with 478 votes (or 54.8 percent).
Great Lakes Region, Ordained/Commissioned — The Rev. Peter C. Bender of Colgate, Wis., was elected with 492 votes (or 54.5 percent).
West-Southwest Region, Ordained/Commissioned — The Rev. Dr. Alfonso O. Espinosa of Lake Forest, Calif., was elected with 585 votes (or 64.6 percent).
East-Southeast Region, Layperson — Janis McDaniels of Greensboro, N.C., was elected with 539 votes (or 60.2 percent).
Great Plains Region, Layperson — Carla M. Claussen of New Brighton, Minn., was elected with 650 votes (or 72.1 percent).
LCMS Board for International Mission
East-Southeast Region, Ordained/Commissioned — The Rev. Roberto E. Rojas Jr. of Gotha, Fla., was elected with 525 votes (or 57.9 percent).
Great Plains Region, Ordained/Commissioned — The Rev. Bernhard M. Seter of Grafton, N.D., was elected with 459 votes (or 50.9 percent).
Central Region, Layperson — Kristine S. Bruss of Topeka, Kan., was elected with 519 votes (or 56 percent).
Great Lakes Region, Layperson — K. Allan Voss of Sheboygan, Wis., was elected with 505 votes (or 55.1 percent).
West-Southwest Region, Layperson — Terence Lung of Sunnyvale, Calif., was elected with 753 votes (or 83.1 percent).
Commission on Theology and Church Relations
Ordained (parish pastor) — The Rev. Robert A. Dargatz of Orange, Calif., was elected in the third round with 580 votes (or 61.8 percent).
Layperson — Andrea R. Pitkus of Buffalo Grove, Ill., was elected in the third round with 519 votes (or 56.5 percent).
Concordia Historical Institute Board of Governors
Ordained (2) — The Rev. Robert V. Roethemeyer of Fort Wayne, Ind., was elected in the second round with 606 votes (or 65.7 percent); and the Rev. Rodney A. Benkendorf of Uniontown, Mo., was elected in the second round with 510 votes (or 55.4 percent).
Commissioned/Layperson — Kathleen (Kathy) Graumann of Montgomery, Texas, was elected with 471 votes (or 51.3 percent).
Concordia Publishing House Board of Directors
Layperson (4) — Stephanie A. Egger of Galva, Iowa, was elected in the second round with 588 votes (or 64.3 percent); Heidi K. Abegg of Alexandria, Va., was elected in the second round with 592 votes (or 63.3 percent); Thomas R. Halvorson of Sidney, Mont., was elected in the second round with 534 votes (or 57.9 percent); and Joseph L. Olson of Whitefish Bay, Wis., was elected in the third round with 513 votes (or 55.6 percent).
Lutheran Church Extension Fund Board of Directors
Ordained/Commissioned — The Rev. Jason M. Braaten of Tuscola, Ill., was elected with 476 votes (or 54.6 percent).
Layperson (2) — Susan J. Elsholz of Birmingham, Mich., was elected in the second round with 600 votes (or 67.2 percent); and Jonathan H. Kramer of Nixa, Mo., was elected in the second round with 460 votes (or 50.4 percent).
LCMS Foundation Board of Trustees
Ordained — The Rev. Robert C. Weinkauf of Basehor, Kan., was elected in the second round with 464 votes (or 50.3 percent).
Layperson — Gregory J. Miller of St. Louis was elected with 479 votes (or 51.6 percent).
Concordia University System Board of Directors
Ordained — The Rev. Dr. Raymond L. Hartwig of Sioux Falls, S.D., was elected in the second round with 551 votes (or 59.2 percent).
Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Board of Regents
Ordained (2) — The Rev. Dr. Korey D. Maas of Hillsdale, Mich., was elected in the third round with 485 votes (or 52.2 percent); and the Rev. William M. Cwirla of Hacienda Heights, Calif., was elected in the second round with 525 votes (or 55.7 percent).
Commissioned — Mark W. Meehl of Seward, Neb., was elected in the second round with 560 votes (or 59.8 percent).
Layperson — David L. Daniels of Taylorsville, N.C., was elected with 634 votes (or 67.9 percent).
Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Board of Regents
Ordained — The Rev. Todd A. Peperkorn of Rocklin, Calif., was elected in the second round with 481 votes (or 51.3 percent).
A second ordained minister and a commissioned minister will be elected to the Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Board of Regents when the committee next comes before the convention.
