Recipients of the scholarship must be studying to become Lutheran pastors, deaconesses or Christian evangelists serving in Africa LCMS partner churches.
The new missionaries were sent during a service at the LCMS International Center in St. Louis on Aug. 7.
The grant will provide $10,000 each to assist nine missionaries/missionary families serving in Burkina Faso, Kenya, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Peru and Russia, and another missionary who has been called to Thailand.
