At its November meeting, the Board heard from its chairman about efforts to increase the efficiencies of corporate Synod so the church can use the savings on its “core competencies.”
The LCMS Blue Ribbon Committee on Lutheran Schools was created by the Synod in convention in 2013 and directed to continue its work in 2016. It will report its findings and recommendations at the 2019 Synod convention in Tampa, Fla.
Immanuel Lutheran School, St. Charles, Mo., and St. Paul Lutheran School, Mount Prospect, Ill., are among those named “National Blue Ribbon Schools” for 2016.
The award from the U.S. Department of Education goes to Messiah Lutheran School, St. Charles, Mo.; Our Redeemer Lutheran School, Wauwatosa, Wis.; and St. Peter Lutheran School, Arlington Heights, Ill.
