In the wake of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in the Midwest, the LCMS Central Illinois and Missouri districts’ Lutheran Early Response Teams are preparing to help their neighbors.
On Dec. 8, volunteers from the LCMS Central Illinois District, Lutheran Early Response Team and Lutheran Church Charities joined the cleanup effort in Taylorville, Ill., following an EF-3 tornado that struck the area on Dec. 1.
The Rev. Mark Miller of Springfield, Ill., was elected on the first ballot to his third term as president of the LCMS Central Illinois District at the district’s 59th convention.
