From July 27 to 30, more than 240 people, including 63 children, gathered at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobile, Ala., under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation.”

The Rev. Dr. Richard J. Serina Jr., who will serve as associate executive director of the Commission on Theology and Church Relations, replaces the Rev. Dr. Larry Vogel, who retired earlier this year.
