The seminaries of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod held their pastoral and diaconal call services and their vicarage and deaconess internship assignment services on April 26 and 27.
After holding virtual Call Day services in 2020 due to the nationwide COVID-19 shutdown, the two seminaries of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod were able, by God’s grace, to return to in-person Call Day celebrations in 2021.
Both seminaries of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod will provide live, online coverage of their upcoming Call Day and Assignment services.
The two LCMS seminaries held virtual Call Day services on April 28 (CSL) and April 29 (CTSFW) due to COVID-19 restrictions, issuing a total of 189 calls and assignments as thousands of people watched online from around the globe.
A total of 201 students received their first calls to pastoral and diaconal ministry and their assignments as vicars and deaconess interns during four services held on the two seminary campuses April 29–30 and May 1.
At its most recent meeting, the LCMS Council of Presidents issued a statement regarding the handling of Synod properties in Hong Kong and the relocation of the Asia Regional Office to Chiayi City, Taiwan.
Those seeking or sharing information on social media about both Call Day services are encouraged to use the hashtag #LCMSCallDay.
