KFUO Radio host Andy Bates talks with Rev. Steve Schave, director, LCMS Church Planting, and Rev. Peter Burfeind about national mission work. Rev. Burfeind is a domestic missionary serving in campus ministry at the University of Toledo and in the struggling inner city of Toledo, Ohio, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Student Ministry.
The Rev. Peter Burfeind and the Rev. Adam DeGroot were blessed and sent out as the first two “Mission Field: USA” national missionaries during a service on Jan. 12, 2016, at the LCMS International Center in St. Louis, Mo.
The Revs. Steve Schave and Mark Wood will take on the roles of directors of Church Planting and Revitalization, respectively, in work mandated by the 2013 LCMS convention.
