Synod Bylaw provisions require the Secretary of the Synod to solicit on behalf of the Committee for Convention Nominations (CCN) nominees for the various positions for which the committee must provide slates of candidates for convention elections. General solicitation for such names is to begin 18 months prior to conventions of the Synod.
Council of Presidents encourages Harrison to invite congregational vote on convention delay
Due to ongoing effects of the pandemic, the LCMS Council of Presidents voted unanimously to encourage LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison to put before congregations a proposal to delay the 2022 Synod convention.
Resource provides guidance for triennial emphasis
The resource was developed by the LCMS Boards for National and International Mission, who were charged by the 2019 convention with providing a “joint report … offering ideas and guidance for proposing triennial mission and ministry emphases to the national convention.”
